In English we use "I'd rather" to say we want to do something more than something else.

Example sentences :

I'd rather drink tea than coffee.
I'd rather stay home than go out.
I'd rather eat pizza than spaghetti.
Would you rather go to the cinema or go bowling?
He'd rather take a year off than start university straight away.
Would you like to go out for dinner? I'd rather not.
