Form : ( Have / Get + object + past participle (verb 3) )

In English we use the passive form have + object + past participle to talk about something we pay other people to do for us.

  • I had my windows cleaned this morning.
  • I had my nails done today.
  • They're having their house painted.
  • She'll have her car serviced tomorrow.
  • We've had our bathroom renovated.

In English we use the passive form get + object + past participle when it was difficult to get something done.

  • After much trying, he finally got a record deal signed.
  • She got her project finished on time even though there was a tight deadline.
  • I'll get the carpets cleaned when I have time. 

Form : ( Get + past participle (verb 3) )

In English we use get + past participle for things that happen by accident or unpleasant things that happen to us.

  • Some glasses got broken when we were packing.
  • My wallet got stolen at the concert last night.
  • Peter got told off by his teacher for swearing.
