In English we use "I'd rather" to say we want to do something more than something else.

Example sentences : 

  • I'd rather drink tea than coffee.
  • I'd rather stay home than go out.
  • I'd rather eat pizza than spaghetti.
  • Would you rather go to the cinema or go bowling?
  • He'd rather take a year off than start university straight away.
